Skipton cuts fixed mortgage rates by up to 0.16 points from Monday
The building society is lowering rates across its whole fixed range for new and existing customers, while its tracker borrowers move up after the Bank Rate rise.

Skipton Building Society is lowering rates across its entire fixed-rate mortgage range from Monday 9 November. The cuts are for new and existing customers, average 0.08 percentage points and reach 0.16 points at most.
They arrive days after the Bank of England put Bank Rate up from 3.75% to 4.00% on 5 November. Skipton said changes in the mortgage market had given it room to bring some of its prices down. It has not published the new rates for individual products.
Skipton's base rate page sets out what changes, and when, for customers on tracker and variable deals.
Tracker mortgages. The higher rate takes effect on a date that depends on which lender the mortgage was first taken out with: 19 November 2026 for Skipton, 12 November 2026 for Scarborough, and 5 November 2026 for Amber Homeloans or North Yorkshire Mortgages. In each case monthly payments change from 1 December 2026, and customers should get a letter or email within 14 days from 5 November 2026.
Standard and mortgage variable rates. Skipton says both are under review. No new rate has been announced.
Savings. Base Rate Tracker savings accounts will be updated on Monday 16 November, in line with their terms. Skipton is reviewing the rest of its variable savings rates. Fixed-rate mortgages and fixed-rate savings stay as they are until the fixed period ends.
