Privacy policy
This page explains what happens to information about you when you read Daily Distribute or get in touch with us.
Reading the site
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which stories people read, so we know what to cover more of. Google Analytics sets cookies and sends information about your visit, such as the pages you view, roughly where you are and the type of device you use, to Google. It only runs if you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject", or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set.
Your choice is saved in your browser so we do not ask on every page. You can change it at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Google's own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy, explains how it handles this data.
We do not run advertising trackers or social media widgets.
Like every website, ours runs on a server that keeps short-term technical logs, including IP addresses, the pages requested, the time of the request and the type of browser used. These logs exist to keep the site secure and working properly, and they are deleted automatically after a short period.
Writing to us
When you email the newsdesk, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message and any attachments. We use this to reply to you, to check facts for a story or to make a correction. We do not sell it or pass it to anyone else unless the law requires us to. We keep emails only for as long as we need them for those purposes.
Other websites
Our stories link to the sources we used, and to other useful websites. Once you leave Daily Distribute, the other site's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Email info@dailydistribute.com to make a request. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Updates
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page.
