Editorial standards
These are the rules every story on Daily Distribute is written to. They apply to the newsdesk and to anything published under our name.
Getting it right
Facts in our stories come from official bodies, such as government departments, regulators, the Office for National Statistics and the NHS, or are confirmed by at least two reputable news organisations. We name those sources at the end of each article and link to them where we can.
We do not present guesses as facts, and we do not put words into anyone's mouth. Where a figure comes from a single organisation, we say whose figure it is.
Fairness
We do not publish allegations about named people or businesses. Our political coverage explains how institutions and decisions work and leaves the opinions to our readers.
General information, not personal advice
Our money and health stories explain how rules and services work. They are not personal financial or medical advice. Health information is based on NHS guidance or published research, and we point readers to the official service for their own situation.
Pictures
We use licensed photographs and credit the photographer under each image. We avoid pictures that show identifiable members of the public alongside news stories.
Paid-for content
The Daily Distribute News Team does not accept payment to write or change news stories. Some articles are paid for by a commercial partner or written by an outside contributor. These carry a "Sponsored" or "Contributed" label at the top and a note at the bottom saying who produced them.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we put it right on the same day where possible. Email info@dailydistribute.com with "Correction" in the subject line, the link to the article and what needs fixing. Where a correction changes the meaning of a story, we add a note at the end of the article explaining what was changed.
Complaints
Send complaints to info@dailydistribute.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. We aim to reply within five working days.
